Kansas City Southern and Union Station Bring Holiday Spirit to Wish Families with Annual Cookies with Santa Event

November 28, 2017

Kansas City, MO

KANSAS CITY, MO. (November 28, 2017) – On Tuesday, December 19, 2017, Kansas City  Southern and Union Station, along with a local young professionals group in Kansas City supporting Make-A-Wish® Missouri, will host local Make-A-Wish children and their families at the historic train station for a night of holiday splendor.

From 6:00 to 8:00 PM, wish families will be guided through a tour of the Kansas City  Southern Holiday Express train at Union Station. During this holiday themed event, wish kids and their families will be able to meet and connect with other wish kids, as well as receive a special holiday surprise during the evening.

Throughout the event, the children will be invited to meet Santa and to gather round the Christmas tree in the Grand Hall of Union Station. Wish children will then decorate cookies and participate in fun surprises and other activities. Hosted within Union Station, the historic museum will become the backdrop for holiday cheer.

“Each year, our wish children look forward to this wonderful event. We are truly blessed to have such great community supporters as Kansas City Southern, Union Station, and Wish KC. This is surely a night that our wish children will enjoy”, said LuAnn Bott, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish® Missouri.

The night will highlight the mission of Make-A-Wish®, and ensure that every wish kid, sibling, parent, or guardian can participate and enjoy the season of giving.

About Make-A-Wish Missouri

Since 1983, Make-A-Wish® Missouri has granted wishes to more than 6,000 children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. This year, the local chapter will grant more than 330 wishes. According to a U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true can influence the health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illnesses, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen the entire family.
