Q: Why did you decide to join the mission of Make-A-Wish?
A: After I had my first (and only) child, a close friend approached me about Make-A-Wish. As a result of that communication and the great work the organization was doing, I explored the opportunity further. I realized that when my child grew up and asked me one day, “Mom, what do you do for work?" I wanted to be able to tell her I was a part of something as meaningful as the mission of Make-A-Wish.
Q: What is the most rewarding experience you’ve had with Make-A-Wish?
A: The most rewarding experience has not been one thing, but is continuously seeing the impact that a wish has. From the wish child, their family, the community, the volunteers, employees and the donors, a wish's impact truly extends beyond just the wish kid.
Q: What has been your favorite part in working with Make-A-Wish?
A: My favorite thing about being part of this wonderful organization is being able to play a small part in a global organization that is comprised of volunteers, wish families, communities and donors that changes the lives of all involved. I know that what I'm contributing is meaningful and I fully believe we all have different strengths to serve our mission.
