My Reasons Why - Nikki Spencer

Nikki and Mascot
Meet the faces behind the mission. We sat down with the individuals behind the scenes to find out why they chose to dedicate their time and talent to granting the wishes of children with critical illnesses. Today's spotlight focuses on Senior Director of Donor Relations, Nikki Spencer.
Q: Why did you decide to join the mission of Make-A-Wish?

A: After many years of working retail, I wanted to do something more rewarding, where I felt like I was doing something meaningful and impactful. Getting that feeling through being a wish granter after all those years, made me realize how I wanted to help grant wishes for a living and have that feeling on a day-to-day basis.

Q: What is the most rewarding experience you’ve had with Make-A-Wish?

A: The most rewarding experience is constantly seeing all the lives that have been touched. As a staff member, I often see and hear how our mission really does bring hope, strength and joy to the families we serve.

Q: What has been your favorite part in working with Make-A-Wish?

A: My favorite part working here is being able to see firsthand the generosity of our community and donors that come together for a wish kid and their one-true wish. It truly gives me hope for humanity.
